Von Hasental
Name
As these pups mature, we hope their "new people" will keep in touch, offer us updates, and send us pictures of them to see how our breeding selections with the sire & dam of the litter are producing. We are ALWAYS anxious to hear from our buyers, and we are also here to answer any questions or help with training, health care or other matters you may have interest in.

We are very proud of the breedings we've chosen to do, & the litters that we have produced. We believe the excellent references and comments we receive from owners of our von Hasental puppies over the years say it all.
Hello Jan,

I apologize for not emailing sooner but time just flies by and Iamit "Izzy" keeps us wonderfully busy. She graduated from puppy class. It was fun to see the puppies interact. Since puppy class took place at the vet office, every time we go she thinks all the dogs are there to play with her.
My son and I have walked Izzy and our border collie Maggie all over Rapid City and throughout the Black Hills. I had an interesting experience when walking Izzy along the bike path that follows Rapid Creek through Rapid City. A woman rode by on her bike and came to a quick stop. She turned around and said, oh my God your GSD is German. She has a GSD from Germany that is a Schutzhund III. She was so impressed with Izzy's beauty and intelligence. I was so pleased to run across someone who knows GSD's. During a visit to the vet for puppy shots, a woman saw Izzy and then ran out to the car to get her husband. Their GSD is about 10 now and they are considering getting a puppy in the near future. They were very interested in your dogs and I gave the vet permission to give them contact info for me if they decide to get a puppy. I did tell them your kennel name so they could look you up online.

You were very accurate when you said Izzy would be very active. My last GSD was more of a quiet watcher. Izzy loves to be on the go. She is absolutely so beautiful that sometimes it takes my breath away. It was a joy to watch her ears go throught the various configurations until she finally was able to keep them erect. She and Maggie get along so well. They run around the yard together and sleep together. Izzy watched me stack the dog dishes inside each other after she and Maggie finished eating. She took over that duty and now keeps the dishes stacked. She loves to grab what ever she can, a rug, her toys, cat toys, towels, the stacked dog dishes and put them all together in a pile in my bedroom. We made it through the teething and are able to cuddle now without the sharp teeth.
You said she would be very affectionate and she is very loving. She is attuned to my movements. As soon as we got her home she saw and heard everything that went on outside.
I have attached several photos at different ages. We have taken so many photos of Izzy it was hard to choose what to send. I have Izzy starting in agility in November and we are excited about it.
I hope you and the dogs are doing well.
Thank you for such a wonderful dog.

Jan,

I know it has been a while, but we are just now moving back into our house and I have access to my computer again. The renovations on our home are done and the puppy did splendidly with all the workers and various loud noises. She is virtually bomb proof. What a love she is, and as clever as we knew she would be. Have enjoyed this puppy time immensely and have had very few accidents of any kind. She absolutely loves her yard what with horses to feed, deer and wild turkeys to keep out and of course the loveable barn cats that put her in her place at the get go. The office manager has a 4 month old springer spaniel and Jolene loves to play with her every morning, and waits by the door for them to arrive. Have had lovely weather of late so we have spent a lot of time getting the garden in order and Jolene likes attacking the rake and digging in the dirt. She is my little buddy and follows me everywhere.

We have friends who have a Shepherd who came by and met Jolene and absolutely feel in love with her and her wonderful demeanor. You will likely hear from them as a puppy is in their future. I will send more photos as soon as I am half organized.

Thanks for our fabulous dog…

Katie and Family Whitefish Montana

Hi Jan.
Jenya is doing great! She has bonded quite well with the humans around her. She has been spending the days at Dan's office and evenings at home. Our housekeeper who is not a dog person in the least fell in love with her in no time. That says a lot!

Other dogs have been a bit of a challenge. She is struggling between her need to protect her new pack and hiding from the St. Bernard and Visla on the other side of the fence.

Potty training has been quite interesting... She hasn't had a single accident with me, but has had three so far with Dan. As of this afternoon she has tuned into her body to learn to let Dan know when it is time to go outside.

She quickly discovered the pond (by way of an accidental dip). Neil and his partner Jamie have called daily wanting to puppy sit but haven't yet gotten the opportunity.

Leash (foos) training has been by far her most notable accomplishment! Not only did she learn to be lead on day 2, but she now immedately heels on the left side. She has yet to pull on the leash.
Overall she is quite affectionate, well mannered, and independant without taking liberties she shouldn't. We couldn't be happier.

Please share our love with the rest of the von Hasental pack, including the very protective Rena, and especially yourself!

Love,
Dan, Geoff, and Jenya Colorado

Jan,
We made it home safe and sound after 11 hours of driving!
We love our puppy!!!!!
She is so beautiful. She slept in my lap all the way to Billings.
Then she slept in between Kaley and Shelby all the way home.
She is a delight. Our dog Axel just loves her. Here is a picture of the two together.
Thank you so much.
